Knitting Getaway

It's very hard to knit when you have a busy schedule. Between working, hanging out with friends and sleeping, there was no time for knitting! And the list of projects I had was just growing, with no sign of slowing down.

Friday night, myself & some friends drove up to Blue Mountain for a weekend getaway. I personally don't ski or snowboard, so I figured this would be a great opportunity to knit! And it has been! With two projects completed, I would say this Knitting Getaway was very successful.

I finished my "Forest Toque" for Alanna's boyfriend Mike. Since I had the time, I gave him two pompom options:

I also FINALLY finished my PacMan inspired Game Board Hat! I will be selling the chart on Ravelry, along with the hat pattern I created for a super slouchy toque. For now, here's a sneak preview of it!

Honeycomb Headband

This headband is a quick and easy knit, and only uses 1/2 a skein of yarn! Made on straight needles, it's great for beginners and has a "seamless" look!

Pattern is available to download on Ravelry.com or click the button below!

Special thanks to the beautiful Sarah for being my model!!

Perfecting PacMan

I've been working away on this Pac Man design .. and when I said before it was a jumble of colours, I really meant it!

Luckily, this is the backside, but i'm going to keep Shane  (the lucky recipient of this hat) in the dark on what the finished product will look like.

In the meantime, I've taken a little break from this guy to work on a design for a knotted headband. These "turbands" and other Arabic inspired headbands are really in right now, so I thought i'd jump on the band wagon and create a design before the winter season is over! Also, my girlfriend Sarah requested one ;)

Here's a sneak peak!

There are plenty of designs available for these fashion forward headbands. If you can't wait for my design, check out KnitMotion.com. Her Francine Turband is gorgeous and was pretty easy to make! Here's my version on the lovely Martha.

Not looking to spend any money? Check out her Turban(d) - it's free to download on Ravelry.com!!

Just keep knitting... Just keep knitting ...

This is my mantra right now.

I'm in the midst of creating an awesome Pac-Man hat for my friend Shane. What have I gotten myself into?!
On paper, the design looks AWESOME! And super easy. But on knitting needles ... yikes! It's a jumble of yarn and colours (did I mention it requires 8 different colours of yarn?).On the plus side, it's coming together quite nicely!

Hopefully will be done this bad boy in the next week or so! The pattern will be for sale on Ravelry for all you brave knitters out there. My next creations will be a Knitted Headband for my girlfriend Sarah and some super cozy dog sweaters for 2 very sweet Whippets.
